Creditinfo acquires a Kenyan mobile financial services provider to facilitate financial inclusion

On Friday, 24th March 2017, an agreement was signed between Creditinfo Group and Alternative Circle, a Nairobi-based mobile financial solutions innovator, to facilitate financial inclusion in Africa. Seed capital, as well as extensive Creditinfo expertise in classic and alternative credit risk management, will empower Alternative Circle to enable access to consumer data that was unavailable before, therefore lowering barriers to a wider population to get access to finance.

Creditinfo Solutions is celebrating its 10th anniversary

Creditinfo Solutions is celebrating its 10th anniversary. A decade ago, on 1st December, 2006, we opened our doors, not knowing what was about to happen. Since then, we have grown from just a couple of employees to in excess of 100 employees. The company’s initial focus working with just local clients changed after a short period of time.  Creditinfo Solutions, with the support and backing from our parent company, Creditinfo Group,  soon began to successfully sign a number of sizeable deals to deliver credit bureau solutions in Sudan, Tanzania, Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Latvia and South Sudan. Having worked for more than a decade for Transunion, as Chief Executive Officer, and prior to that as Group Head for Collection Steven Kunyiha circleAfrica Limited, Steven has amassed a wealth of experience in the credit industry. Steven will be ultimately responsible for all day-to-day man
agement decisions and for implementing the Company’s long and short term plans. Steven will be responsible for driving Creditinfo Kenya to the next level, building on the solid foundation and momentum achieved by the team under Daniel Kanyi’s leadership.

Speaking at  the 12th Global Microfinance Forum 

This month Agata Szydlowska, Head of Financial Inclusion & CRB Awareness, Creditinfo Credit Bureau Expansion team (pictured right), Alexandra Aproiants, Senior Business Consultant, Creditinfo Solutions (pictured left) and Samuel White, Head of Sales & Marketing for Creditinfo International (taking the photo!), attended the 12th Annual Global Microfinance Forum, held in Berlin, Germany.

The conference was very well received by the participants and we received very positive feedback on the level of speakers and presentations. Our presentation was rated  an average rate of 3.8 from a maximum of 4 and we were told it added considerable value, and contributed significantly to the success of this event.

Gunnar Gunnarsson

b2157bd0-b06d-483b-95cd-c36497ec6f12 Gunnar joined Creditinfo Iceland in February 2016 as the Director of Risk, but little did you  know,  he was also once the Icelandic champion in Backgammon.

 Gunnar has a PhD in mathematics from Kaliforn- íuháskóla in Santa Barbara and an MA degree  from  the same school.
