Herman’s Bio:

Originating from The Netherlands (1971), Herman Zandt started his professional career in 1995 by setting up his Dutch management consulting company, which has been the key driver behind numerous international projects ever since. Through cross-cultural co-operations with small to large organizations, various ambitious projects have been initiated and successfully completed, among others within the challenging areas of e-commerce, new media and the regulated financial and aviation industries, requiring a strong focus on detail and compliance due to their strict procedures and high risks involved.

In his international management consultancy practice, Herman has experienced the significant impact business conflicts have on the performance and output of organizations, regardless of size, industry, success and geographical location. This led to his specialization in business mediation over the years, among others through his research and dissertation “Corporate Mediation: Trend or Need? – The Expected Impact of Mediation on Corporate Dispute Resolution in Malta” (2005), completed as part of obtaining his triple-accredited Executive MBA degree from Henley Management College (United Kingdom).

In 2009, Herman obtained Accredited Mediator status from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR, London). This was followed by the nomination to carry out the function of Mediator in domestic and international mediations, issued by the Malta Mediation Centre (Ministry of Justice) in Malta.

As Director of Syrtis (Malta) Limited, provider of effective business solutions to an international clientele, Herman combines his professional experiences with continuous research and regular publications on the vast subject of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). This led to his launching of the online platform www.brevis.eu through which business mediation services are offered, allowing parties to achieve efficient out-of-Court settlements of their disputes as emerged both within the workplace and external to the organization.

As MTI’s CertifiedTrainer of Managing Workplace Conflict, Herman offers business leaders a flexible and practical approach towards maximum awareness of disputes and their organizational impact. This is combined with sharing tools and techniques on how to reveal the true cost of conflict, prevent workplace conflicts and resolve critical business disputes, regardless if any litigation or arbitration has already commenced.
