Enterprise Risk Management

megan-3Creditinfo Jamaica‘s CEO, Megan Deane, today shared insights into how to manage Enterprise Risk.

According to Wikipedia:

Enterprise risk management (ERM) in business includes the methods and processes used by organizations to manage risks and seize opportunities related to the achievement of their objectives. ERM provides a framework for risk management, which typically involves identifying particular events or circumstances relevant to the organization’s objectives (risks and opportunities), assessing them in terms of likelihood and magnitude of impact, determining a response strategy, and monitoring progress. By identifying and proactively addressing risks and opportunities, business enterprises protect and create value for their stakeholders, including owners, employees, customers, regulators, and society overall. More about Azerbaijan

As you may remember, in November, we told you that we were the finalists, along with CRIF, for a tender to become the operator of the First Credit Bureau in Azerbaijan.

Before selecting the winner, the Executive Committee wanted to clarify a few issues relating to the hardware of each organisation. In December, Tomáš Tichý,Radek Bittner, Paul Randall and Reynir gave a presentation in Baku.  According to Paul his presentation was fantastic and Reynir’s was OK! (how cheeky!).

Anyway, the Committee now want to visit both organisations, so at the end of January they will be going to IBCH in Kiev and to CRIF HQ in Bologna.   Afterwhich they will advise who will receive the tender. Watch this space….

On a side note, we bumped into William Haigh as we were leaving the IFC office.

We won the tender in Afghanistan

As you may already know, we won the tender for developing the Public Credit Registry (PCR) system for Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) to enhance access to financial resources and loan facilities in the country.  Reynir signed the contract for the project in Kabul in February 2013.

The tender was organised by the Central Bank of Afghanistan in cooperation with the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Harakat Organization.  The total cost of the project is US$2.5 million financed by the World Bank.
We are one of the main contributors to this project.

How Lithuanians show their proud of high ratings

Certificates “Strongest in Lithuania” became a strong proof of confidence in Lithuanian companies. Some of them are so proud that they are able to get these certificates several years in a row that puts them altogether showing continuity of creditworthiness.

We believe that for the company from one of the biggest cities our certificates is more than a proof of trustworth or marketing. It‘s an emotion, proudness and a wish to show that to everybody: from local staff to VIP clients. We are very happy how many opportunities our clients have using the certificate.

Paul's off to Tanzania to deliver training

paul-2Paul Randall and one of the CIS team will be flying out to deliver training to some of Tanzania’s potential clients.  This is a great way for the clients to network and share best practice whilst also being an informative session and for us, it’s a great opportunity to promote what we do best and how we can help them do things better.  During the 4 x 50 minutes sessions, we’ll be telling them about the benefits of a Credit Bureau, the data landscape in their country, going into detail about scoring and also automation.  If this is of interest, give Paul a call!

On the hunt in Cape Verde

Players of the Month: Tanzania and Malta

tanzaniaYou always remember your first!

November saw the team in Tanzania sell their first International Report.  Well done, to Andrew CarterDave KahwaEdwin Urasa,Shane Moldenhauer & Pamela Uriyo, the first of many we’re sure!

malta teamwork winnersTeamwork pays off

Congratulations to Remy DamatoMelissa Pace Antonio Di Bari, for already breaking all records regarding the creation of D&B reports. Even with another month to go, they are already 10% up on last year in not only the number of reports but also on the total revenue. This is big indication on the quality and speed in which these reports are delivered by the team.  There has to be something said for their teamwork as they also won the bridge building contest at the last Values Seminar in Malta.

From the photo, we’d advise them not to swap their day jobs for construction!

Growing a mo!

movember_fotoDuring November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world.   With their “Mo’s” men raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.

A team of the guys at SOLUTIONS CZ got into the spirit of Movember by growing a range of impressive moustaches.
At the end of the month, the ladies of the Czech office voted and David Urban became the resolute winner. For his great efforts, David won a session at the local Barber Shop.

However, second place was undecided, as Milan Krupicka and Radek Bittner drew in the number of votes, but in the deciding round, Radek won over Milan 3:2.  Jitka Burkoňová lead the way in helping the guys raise money for the charity and LindaTomanová assisted in arranging the vote.
