Creditinfo Georgia – SME Access to Finance

The economy is not dominated by large and multinational corporations. SME‘s are greatly responsible for economic growth and therefore an important sector to focus on. Creditinfo Georgia has invested to develop specific tools to help companies provide better, more effective decisions to enable greater access to finance for SMEs.

Creditinfo – working towards a better education in Afghanistan
Creditinfo has repeatedly donated to Waresa-e-Faqeer, a primary school for both girls and boys in the Kama District, Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan being operated by DARMAN (Development And Relief of Medical for Afghan Nation). DARMAN also runs a much needed clinic for the poor in an outskirt of Kabul.
DARMAN aims to develop the people of Afghanistan through culturally appropriate projects aimed at improving health, education, skills, and living conditions. The organisation was established the same year Creditinfo was established, in 1997, in Pakistan by a group of medical professionals, engineers, educational specialists, and university professors. At that time, the majority of its members were refugees from Afghanistan. They returned to their homeland in May 2002 with a desire to serve their fellow countrymen. DARMAN is a registered Afghan NGO, a non-governmental organisation with its central office currently located in Karte Nao, in Kabul Province, Afghanistan. Continue reading »
The Credit Reference Bureau in Mali (BIC) is now a reality

The Credit Reference Bureau in Mali (BIC) initiated by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) and whose law was passed three months ago in our country is now a reality. The contracts related to this project which aims at centralizing the information on clients and helping with decision-making while granting credits, were signed on Wednesday, September 9th 2015, in the BNDA conference room. The signing ceremony involved the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (APBEF) represented by its Vice President, Mr. Sekou Barry (DG BCIM Mali) and the BIC of WAMU area, Creditinfo VoLo, represented by its Director General, Mr. Adamou Sambaré. This ceremony was presided over by BCEAO National Director, Mr. Konzo Traoré and many leaders of the banking and financial sector from the 25 reporting institutions. Continue reading »

Creditinfo VoLo signed a service delivery contract with the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABPEF) and the Professional Association of Decentralized Financial Systems (APSFD) of Niger to ensure better access to credit.

BIG Data Lending in Sub-Saharan Africa, Responsibility is Key to avoid pain of the past.
The experience of the over-indebtedness crisis amongst the poorest in Kosovo and other regions such Andhra Pradesh in India is still a clear memory to those who had to manage the human and financial fallout from these situations. This type of crisis is caused by 2 factors; excessive liquidity largely from donor funded institutions and secondly no credit bureau infrastructure, or usage of it.
Are we about to witness the same cycle in sub-Saharan Africa with the highly funded race to provide loans through the trend of alternative/big data, at the same time as MFIs are not integrated into the “credit bureau culture”? Continue reading »
