Moreover, tradespeople now have the opportunity to leverage CheckYourTraders’ expertise in debt collection through Creditinfo Malta’s services. With a dedicated team representing them in debt recovery matters, tradespeople can focus on their core business activities without the added burden of chasing overdue payments. Creditinfo awarded license to become Malta’s first Credit Bureau

Creditinfo Malta will help local credit providers take a more intelligent approach to risk and boost financial inclusion.

London, UK – 21st December 2021: Creditinfo Group, the leading global credit information and decision analytics solutions provider, today announced that its Maltese business has been granted the license to act as a Credit Reference Agency, officially recognizing the Creditinfo Malta as the first licensed credit bureau in Malta.

This license will enable the company to launch a credit scoring system for Malta, and collaborate with local banks and lenders to create dedicated scoring products and strategies, tailored to their needs and risk appetite.

Consumers and SMEs in smaller markets like Malta are less likely to obtain financing than those in larger market with more established financial infrastructure, due to lack of information about their credit history. A credit reporting system – like the one Creditinfo is putting in place – helps to provide the information on borrowers and their financial situation lenders need to derisk the system and give them the confidence to widen access to financing.

The deal, which will see Creditinfo play an increasingly important role in the Maltese market, strengthens the company’s relationships with two key local authorities, the Malta Business Registry and the Malta Financial Services Authority, who are equally invested in growing the Maltese economy and boosting financial inclusion.

Clifford Debono, Country Manager of Creditinfo Malta commented: “A formalized credit reporting system in Malta should help open doors for small and medium-sized enterprises that have long been closed, by increasing access to credit. That will in turn enable them to grow, create jobs and benefit the overall economy.

“We see huge untapped potential in Malta, and we’re excited to establish the country’s first ever credit bureau, which will be a key driver of digitalization in Maltese financial services., ultimately boosting access to finance for individuals and small businesses.”

Paul Randall, CEO of Creditinfo Group added: “Creditinfo has been effective in strengthening the financial infrastructure in numerous countries across the world. We’re looking forward to seeing how the local lending landscape develops as we roll out our market leading credit bureau solution in Malta, derisking the financial system and widening access to the financing that will be key to future business and economic growth in the country.”

The Maltese show off their driving skills.

charles vella2 charlene camilleri2Congratulations to Charles Vella, Financial Controller at Creditinfo Malta!

The team recently went go karting as part of a team building exercise.  Initially, they were split into 2 teams boys v. girls to determine the fastest drivers, so they could then be split into 2 teams for the actual race. In the actual race Charles was the fastest of the fastest drivers, along with Charlene Camilleri coming 2nd.  Yes, Charlene gave the guys a whooping leaving them in her tracks of dust!  Charlene was the only girl in the team of the fast drivers.  Although if you saw her sporty car, you’d get an idea why! In the 2nd team of the slightly slower drivers, Emma came out as the winner, revealing some quite aggressive driving skills which even she didn’t know was in her!  Must be the last 3 years of practice on the Maltese roads!

Samantha Martin, Sales Executive, Creditinfo Malta

samanthaSamantha joined the team in Malta in September 2014.  Having previously worked as a Business Development Manager for 3 years with 2 other Maltese data solutions companies.  Prior to data solutions, Samantha has also worked as an Account Manager for a number of years with a media company.  In her spare time she volunteers at the Animal Welfare shelter.  Sam has settled into the team quickly with her friendly and positive outlook. She has already had her first Sales in only a few weeks of starting and getting to know the ropes.  As such, we are sure she will be a great success.

A wedding with a difference in Malta!

Congratulations and celebrations!

Ramon Curmi of Creditinfo Malta and his beautiful bride, Louise, married on Saturday 24th May 2014.  Talk about doing it in style…..after the wedding service, the couple made a grand entrance by speedboat to the Reception party.  The Reception was held at a unique location, Popeye’s village.  Not only is the venue where the original 1980 Musical Production “Popeye”, starring Robin Williams in his debut role, was filmed, but also  one of the most scenic areas in Malta. Everyone that attended from the CI Malta office has remarked what a wonderful wedding it was and that the reception location rocked!

malta teamwork winnersTeamwork pays off

Congratulations to Remy DamatoMelissa Pace Antonio Di Bari, for already breaking all records regarding the creation of D&B reports. Even with another month to go, they are already 10% up on last year in not only the number of reports but also on the total revenue. This is big indication on the quality and speed in which these reports are delivered by the team.  There has to be something said for their teamwork as they also won the bridge building contest at the last Values Seminar in Malta.

From the photo, we’d advise them not to swap their day jobs for construction!

Values Day in Malta

Creditinfo Malta are holding a Values Day covering team activities and discussions on the theme INNOVATION.  They are also going on a Treasure Hunt on Segways.  It’s going to be a war of the Camilleri’s – our CEO of Malta Simon will lead a team against our Group Marketing Manager, Emma!

Nothing like a bit of inter company competition but may be it’s a good job that their previous Values Days have already covered Cooperation & Respect!
